  • Reason for closure: East Dunbartonshire Council Coring Works

  • Road affected: Crowhill Road between its junction with the A803 Kirkintilloch Road and its junction with Emerson Road West

  • Notes: Alternative route, shown on the plan below, will be as follows. Vehicles on the north side of the clo-sure should proceed southwestwards then southwards on the A803 Kirkintilloch Road then eastwards on Colston Road then northwards and eastwards on the B812 Auchinairn Road then northwards on Crowhill Road to the south side of the closure.

  • Reason for closure: East Dunbartonshire Council Coring Works
  • Town: Bishopbriggs
  • Road affected: Springfield Road between its junction with Arnold Avenue and its junction with the A803 Kirkintilloch Road

  • Reason for closure: Contractor carrying out various groundworks including the formation of a new access. These works are associated with the new Cala Housing Development presently under construction. There are also repairs being carried out on the existing former railway bridge on Chryston Road, due to corrosion discovered during the site investigation
  • Road affected: Chryston Road, Fauldhead, at a location to the east of its junction with Market Road, Kirkintilloch
  • Duration: Sunday 22 September 2024 until 6pm on Friday 31 March 2025
  • Notes: In order to prevent danger to the public arising from damage to the structural integrity of the bridge over the former railway bridge and for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, East Dunbartonshire Council will require to extend the existing temporary road closure on Chryston Road Fauldhead, between its junctions with Market Road, Kirkintilloch, and Sauchenhall Road/Muckcroft Road from 6pm on Sunday 22 September 2024 until 6pm on Friday 31 March 2025
    Alternative routes are be by of Sauchenhall Road, Gartshore Road, Mollins Road, the B8048 Waterside Road, Market Road, Kirkintilloch, Calfmuir Road, and Muckcroft Road, and these routes are presently being sign posted
    Access to the closed section of road is presently only maintained for vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent the closed section of road. There is no access through the closed section of road for emergency service vehicles

 

  • Reason for closure: BT repairs to damaged ironwork
  • Road affected: High Street, Kirkintilloch between its junction with Braehead Street and its junction with Broadcroft Road
  • Duration: 6am on Wednesday 8 January 2025 until 6pm on Friday 10 January 2025
  • Notes: Alternative routes will be by of High Street, Eastside, the A803 Kilsyth Road and Glasgow Road, the A806 New Lairdsland Road, the B8048 Waterside Road, Redbrae Road, and Hillhead Road, Kirkintilloch, and these routes will be sign posted.

Scheduled temporary traffic management

  • Reason for temporary traffic management: BT is to carry out repairs to a frame/cover
  • Town: Balmore
  • Road affected: A807 Balmore Road west of its junction with Glen Orchard Road
  • Duration: 9.30am on Saturday 11 January 2025 till Monday 13 January 2025
  • Notes: In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, temporary two way traffic signals will be used to control traffic movements.The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled from 7am until 7pm, each day.

  • Reason for temporary traffic management: SGN is to carry out gas main replacement works
  • Town: Bearsden
  • Road affected: Canniesburn Road, Bearsden, between its junction with the A809 Drymen Road and a point north of its junction with Tweed Drive
  • Duration: 9.30am on Monday 6 January 2025 for approximately three months
  • Notes: In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, rolling temporary three and four way traffic signals incorporating pedestrian crossing facilities as required will be used to control traffic movements. The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled between 7am and 7pm, each day.

  • Reason for temporary traffic management: Scottish Water is to carry out repairs to a damaged ironwork 
  • Town: Bishopbriggs
  • Road affected: B819 Crosshill Road near its junction with Cadder Roundabout at the A803 Kirkintilloch Road
  • Duration: 9.30am until 6pm on Wednesday 8 January 2025
  • Notes: In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, the existing pedestrian crossing facilities, will require to be switched off and temporary four way traffic signals incorporating pedestrian crossing facilities will be used to control traffic movements. The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled between 7am and 7pm, each day.

  • Reason for temporary traffic management: Council Transportation is to carry out various works associated with the active travel corridor.
  • Town: Milngavie
  • Road affected: A807 Auchenhowie Road, between a point east of its junction with Finlay Rise and Alllander Toll Roundabout.
  • Duration: 9.30am on Monday 4 November till 4 April 2025
  • Notes: This work is associated with the A807 Active Travel Corridor project.
    The works area will be from east of the Rangers FC training ground to the Allander Toll roundabout. The works programme has been broken down into six phases, with each phase approximately 250m in length. In the interests of contractor and public health and safety, temporary traffic lights will be in place to manage the flow of traffic past each phase of work.
    In order for the works to be carried out in a safe manner, rolling temporary two, three and four way traffic signals will be used to control traffic movements on Auchenhowie Road between a point east of its junction with Finlay Rise and Allander Toll Roundabout. The temporary traffic signals will be manually controlled between 7am and 7pm, each day.

  • Duration: 9.30am until 3.30pm on Tuesday 7 January 2025
