Parking Charges

Parking charges are currently in place in nine car parks in East Dunbartonshire.

Charging times have been kept to a minimum, Monday to Saturday 9am to 5.30pm, with no restrictions in the evenings or on Sundays.

The charges are:

  • 0-2 hours - £1
  • 2-3 hours - £2
  • 3-4 hours - £3
  • Over 4 hours - £5

Please note a valid pay & display ticket requires to be displayed at all times within the car park.

Please also note, Blue Badge holders can park for free in all of East Dunbartonshire's Council car parks - even where charges are in place and regardless of whether it is in a disabled bay as long as a valid disabled badge is properly displayed. You do not have to obtain a pay & display ticket.

Electronic Payment for Off Street Parking Charges Amendment Order 2020

On 23 July 2020 East Dunbartonshire Council made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, which comes into operation on 14 September 2020.

This Order introduces an amendment to the methods of payment of parking charges that apply between the hours of 9am and 5.30 pm, Monday to Saturday inclusive, to allow for electronic payments to be made.

Park with PayByPhone

PayByPhone offers motorists an alternative means of payment to the existing pay and display machines by allowing you to pay via your mobile phone.

The service is now available in selected East Dunbartonshire car parks.  Each car park has its own unique Location Number to be quoted when paying.

Why should you use it?

  1. No need to worry about having the right change on you
  2. No need to go on the hunt for the nearest Pay and Display machine
  3. No need to display a ticket in your vehicle
  4. Encourages safe practices such as physical distancing
  5. Get text message reminders sent to your phone before your parking runs out
  6. No need to rush back to your vehicle – extend your parking session from your phone.

Motorists can download the app to register or register online to pay for their parking from their mobile phone. The PayByPhone web page provides further information, as well as demonstration videos that are available on YouTube on how to use the App and service.

If you prefer not to download the app, you can also go to the web address pay by phone and pay online.

Payments can then be made by calling 0330 400 7275 or by texting 65565.

PayByPhone have also developed a self-service support centre on their website.
