The following Remembrance Day Services have been organised in the towns and villages of East Dunbartonshire for Sunday 10 November 2024.

Please consider attending your local event to pay your respects and remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice.

The Remembrance Day Events

  • 12.40pm - Brief service at Auchinairn Early Learning & Community Centre 
  • 12.45pm – Parade arrives for service at War Memorial on Auchinairn Road 
  • 1pm – Laying of wreaths at the War Memorial.

  • 10.42am - Official party will leave from All Saints Church for the War Memorial 
  • 10.46am – Service will commence.  
  • 11.04am - Laying of wreaths then National Anthem.

  • 10.30am - Service of Remembrance in St James the Less, Hilton Road, Bishopbriggs 
  • 12.30pm – Parade from Cadder South Hall to Scout Hall and onwards to War Memorial 
  • 12.45pm - Brief service and laying of wreaths at War Memorial 
  • Light refreshments in Scout Hall, Kenmure Drive.

  • 10.45am - Meet at War Memorial Gates 
  • 10.50am - Remembrance Service.

  • 1.30pm - Meet at St Paul’s Church Car Park in Cairnview Road 
  • 1.45pm - Procession leaves 
  • 2pm approx - Service and wreath laying at War Memorial Garden in Craighead Road.

  • 12noon - Service in Baldernock Parish Church 
  • At the conclusion of the service the congregation gathers at the War Memorial on Craigmaddie Road for a brief Act of Remembrance and laying of wreaths.

  • 10.45am – Parade from Torrance Parish Church, School Road, Torrance. Organisations taking part will then walk the short distance to the War Memorial, in Village Square. 

  • 3pm - Short Service at the Memorial Stone in Main Street, Twechar followed by laying of the wreaths. Service will be in the Church of the Nazarene if weather is inclement. 

  • 10.40am - All parties assemble at the War Memorial 
  • 10.50am - Service will commence 
  • After the service, the Milngavie Pipe Band will lead off to Station Road where all parties will disperse.

  • 10.30am – Remembrance Service at St David’s Church 
  • 12.15pm approx. – Parade leaves church to go the War Memorial at Peel Park. 

  • 2pm - Service at War Memorial on the Woodilee Estate at the corner of Lapwing Avenue and Menzies Drive.
