Common Housing Register (CHR) Review 2025
The Housing Service undertake an annual review of all applicants on the waiting list. East Dunbartonshire Council are now reviewing Housing applications on the yearly anniversary of the application.
If you have a current Housing Application (Common Housing Register) we will send you a review letter, one year after your application is active, detailing all the information we hold on your housing application, including household members, current housing details and areas of choice for rehousing.
You are required to respond to this review by either:
- by scanning the QR code detailed on your letter and/or email.
- an online form which can be accessed via the link in your email (applicants will only receive an email if they have previously provided this)
You MUST submit your review return form and information within the time period specified which is detailed on your letter to ensure your application is not cancelled and you are not removed from the rehousing list.
If you are unable to access the online form via the QR code or via link then you can email chr-review@eastdunbarton.gov.uk and we can provide an appointment with a member of housing staff to assist you to complete the review. Allocation of council housing is based on housing need. The waiting time will depend on what house type, size and area you are queued for. We have three queues - waiting list, transfer list and the priority list - and we allocate approximately 250 Council houses per year between the three queues. 50% of lets are allocated to the priority queue, 30% to the transfer queue and 20% to the waiting list. We are unable to provide a queue position as the queue positions fluctuate on a daily basis as new applications are loaded with varying amounts of points.

Please ensure 'CHR review - your application number' is in the subject line of your email.

You MUST answer all questions on the online form - questions will appear depending on how you answer each question. Once there are no further questions to answer press submit.
Further questions will appear once you select that you do not wish to cancel your application and you can then make any relevant changes. If you do want to cancel your application then you will not have the option to make changes and will only be required to complete the fraud and GDPR info.
The form has been set up to only bring up questions that are required. Once you select no to the 'Do you want to cancel your application?' question this will bring up the question asking if you wish to make any changes to your application. Once you select yes it will bring up options of what info you want to change i.e. name change, household details change etc. Select what info you want to change and this will bring up the questions relating to these particular changes. There is also a text box at the end of the form for you to add anything that is not covered by the questions on the form.
You must submit your online form by the date on your review letter. You will receive a reminder letter thereafter but please disregard this if you have already responded. We only need you to submit your application once and you will have the option at the bottom of the online form to email yourself a copy of your response.
Do not worry if you don't have a smart phone or access to the internet as our local libraries have free internet access and you can access the form via the link on your email, if you provided this.

Your application will be updated to confirm that you have responded to the review. Your changes will be updated and will be saved to your folder. We will NOT write out to you to confirm receipt of your form however if you choose to, you will receive an automated email to confirm receipt of your submission.
If you fail to respond within the timescale you will receive a letter confirming that your application is cancelled.
