Environmental Assessment (Scotland) Act 2005, Environmental Report Notification under Section 16(2)
As a result of recommended modifications to the East Dunbartonshire Local Development Plan, contained in the Report of Examination issued by the Scottish Government Planning and Environmental Appeals Division (DPEA), modifications have been made to the associated Environmental Report in the form of an Addendum as part of the Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) process.
The SEA process is a systematic process for considering the likely significant environmental impacts of the policies and proposals within the Plan. The Addendum will present the SEA implications of issues identified as a result of the Report of Examination as well as any modifications to the Principal and Subject Policies and proposed development site assessments. The Addendum will also contain revised cumulative and community group assessments. It is a legislative requirement to prepare this report in accordance with Section 14 of the Environmental Assessment (Scotland) Act 2005.
The Environmental Report Addendum can be viewed here or in person at the planning offices at Southbank House, Strathkelvin Place, Kirkintilloch, G66 1XQ.
The formal period for viewing and commenting on the SEA Environmental Report Addendum is from 24 October 2016 to 21 November 2016. Comments on the SEA Environmental Report Addendum should be submitted :
- by email to firstname.lastname@example.org
- in writing to the Sustainability Policy Team at Southbank House, Strathkelvin Place, Kirkintilloch, G66 1XQ.
The Environmental Report – Addendum can be read in conjunction with the Environmental Report for the Proposed LDP
The Addendum has been prepared in order to ensure that recommended modifications to the Proposed LDP from the Scottish Government Planning and Environmental Appeals Division (DPEA), through the Examination process, have been fully considered within the SEA process. In order to ensure that all recommendations proposed through the SEA Environmental Report Addendum are carried forward, the Council intends to produce Planning Guidance, including site briefs which will incorporate all the relevant mitigation measures proposed through the SEA process.
