The former Council depot, which is located within Bearsden North Ward Boundary, lies approx. 1km West of Bearsden. St Nicholas Primary, Castlehill Primary and Bearsden Academy are all within 2km. The site is bounded on three sides by land designated as greenbelt, with direct access taken from Duntocher Road A810. The site, which extends to approx. 2.37 HA (5.85 acres) was previously utilised by the council as a Roads and Waste Depot. There are a number of buildings on site which are in poor condition, the largest of these comprises the former vehicle workshop, which has a GIA in the region of 1600 sqm(17,215 sq ft). At the entrance to the site there are two derelict residential properties. The site is subject to a right of access through the depot site from the main entrance to the adjoining field, any future proposal will be mindful of this and development must include access provision. Please see plan showing the right of access which must be retained.
