With the Christmas and New Year break approaching, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for all the hard work that has taken place in 2024.
Once again it was a busy year against a challenging economic landscape. As well as our vital services being delivered, there were numerous projects and initiatives started or completed throughout the year.
We officially opened multiple new playparks as well as sports facilities at Lennoxtown High Park and Kirkintilloch Sports Complex, repaired and refurbished the Milngavie Precinct Clock, launched new Council, HSPC and EDLC websites, and began work on the Twechar Outdoor Pursuit Centre. This is just a snapshot of the work throughout the year that we as a Council have achieved involving different services and cross-team collaboration.
As usual our frontline services will continue to be delivered during the festive season. Our home carers, Customer Service agents, waste operatives and gritters will all be working over the next few weeks, as well as those who will be on standby. I would like to offer a special thanks to these teams for ensuring our essential services run smoothly for our residents during this time.
I hope everyone has a happy and safe Christmas and New Year whilst also getting a much-deserved rest.
