Introduction
Dear All
With the school holidays approaching I thought it would be a good time to send you a short update before many of you head off on well-deserved summer holidays with your families.
As you’ll be aware, the focus over the last four weeks has been preparing for the UK General Election on Thursday 4 July.
I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone who has been working on the preparations for this – the election team for the huge amount of work carried out so far, everyone involved in the planning, anyone who has volunteered to work at a polling station or at the count, and those who have had to postpone or reschedule projects or events so they don’t clash with the pre-election period. This year, even more than ever, it truly has been a team effort with people from services across the Council involved so thank you.
As you will hopefully know, there are changes to how we all vote in this election so please remember that anyone wanting to cast their vote will need to take Voter ID to the polling station.
On Wednesday 22 May, we held a Leadership Forum at Kilmardinny House bringing together our leadership team across the Council. This was not only a fantastic opportunity to network and get to know our colleagues better, but we had a number of valuable sessions relating to Communications and PDRs.
Thank you to everyone who completed the survey about my regular updates – you can still fill this in if you haven’t already by visiting here.
As well as this, your Team Leaders and Managers will be speaking to you all in due course, to pull together your feedback and thoughts so you can help shape our internal communications going forward.
Now for some updates….

And Finally….
A huge congratulations to Euan Kemp, a sixth-year pupil at the Music School of Douglas Academy in Milngavie, who has won the Scottish Young Musician’s Solo Performer of the Year 2024 award.
I hope those of you taking time off during the summer holiday period have a lovely break. Enjoy the time off with your loved ones and I hope you come back refreshed and rested.
Thanks,
Ann
