Contracts and tenders
The Council is currently committed to advertising all tender/contract opportunities, in excess of £16,500, on Public Contracts Scotland.
The Quick Quotes facility is used for well specified requirements between £16,500 and £50,000 with more complex requirements, including those valued above £50,000, advertised openly
Opportunities valued below £16,500 may also use the Quick Quote process with a minimum of four suppliers invited to take part. Quick Quote opportunities are rotated amongst suppliers to create equality of opportunity
In order to participate in these processes suppliers must be registered on the Public Contracts Scotland website.
If the value of the Tender exceeds the EDC thresholds based on procurement law, it is also advertised on UK Find a Tender Service (FTS).
Collaborative frameworks
Collaborative Frameworks will also be used where appropriate. Collaborative tenders and frameworks aggregate spend across public sector organisations at local government level (Scotland Excel), Scottish national level (Scottish Procurement), or at UK level (Crown Commercial Service), to achieve the most competitive pricing.
Contracts register
East Dunbartonshire Council’s Abbreviated Contracts Register provides details of current contracts including expiry date. Some months prior to contract end a Procurement Strategy will be compiled to ascertain the most beneficial route for the Council, where relevant a notice will be published on Public Contracts Scotland inviting responses within the relevant format.
Details of collaborative contracts used by the Council can be found in the Council's Contracts Register in the Document section of this page.
