Bins and Recycling
Our waste service will not be operational on:
- Christmas Day and Boxing Day
- 1 January 2025
- 2 January 2025
We expect possible delays in the service provision during this busy period so residents are advised to leave bins on the pavement until the collection has been taken.

Christmas tree recycling
Once the festive fun is over, don't forget to recycle your real Christmas tree to ensure that it doesn’t contribute to rubbish going to landfill.
From Friday 3 January to Sunday 12 January you can dispose of your tree in a skip at these locations:
- William Patrick Library car park, Kirkintilloch
- Mavis Valley Recycling Centre, Bishopbriggs
- Milngavie Community Education Centre, Milngavie.
If you hold a Garden Waste 2024 Permit, you can call our Customer Services team on 0300 123 4510 to arrange for your Christmas tree to be picked up or your garden waste bin emptied between Monday 13 January and Sunday 19 January 2025.
Requests for Christmas tree or green bin uplifts can be made during office hours from Friday 3 January until Friday 17 January.
