This consultation about East Dunbartonshire Council’s Local Heat and Energy Efficiency Strategy (LHEES) is an opportunity for residents, businesses and organisations living or operating locally to have their say on decarbonising heat and improving energy efficiency in buildings throughout the area.
The Strategy aims to support Scotland’s statutory targets for fuel poverty reduction and reaching net zero emissions. It covers both domestic and non-domestic properties and is required to:
- Set out the changes required to meet national objectives, such as tackling fuel poverty and achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions
- Identify ‘heat decarbonisation zones’ and how to reduce building emissions in each zone
- Prioritise areas within East Dunbartonshire to meet local and national priorities.
This consultation runs from Tuesday 1 October to Thursday 29 October 2024. Please read the proposed Strategy and Delivery Plan on the consultation webpage then complete the short online survey.
There is also an opportunity to have your say at an online consultation event on Wednesday 23 October 2024, from 2-4pm. If you’d like to attend, please register your interest.
