This Technical Note will be published on the Council’s website following circulation to Members. Its contents may be disclosed or shared out with the Council.

  • The purpose of this Technical Note is to advise Members that Garden Waste Permits for the 2025 season are now available online to purchase
  • Residents will need to purchase and display a garden waste permit on their green bin otherwise their bin will not be emptied
  • There will be a single annual charge of £50 per green bin, which will entitle the household to 19 fortnightly collections from March to November
  • Households can buy more than one permit
  • Permits can be applied for online, visit the Garden waste collection page
  • It takes up to 14 days for a permit to arrive, so residents are encouraged to complete the form as soon as possible to ensure their green bin is collected from the start of the season
  • Residents who choose not to apply for a permit, can continue to dispose of garden waste at Mavis Valley Recycling Centre free of charge
  • A full communications plan will launch on 12 February 2025 and will continue until after the garden waste service begins in March, using a variety of online and offline communications methods to inform residents.
