Technical Notes

  1. The purpose of this Technical Note is to advise Members of the next stage of Ground Investigations at the Huntershill Affordable Housing development site.
  2. A previous site investigation identified the approximate extent and depths of historic mine workings in the area. The findings of this additional survey will help ascertain and fully establish the extent of former mine workings, the developable area of the site in practice and support further refinement of the project cost plan.
  3. The survey will take approx. 3 weeks, subject to weather conditions, and is due to begin week commencing Monday 10th February 2025.
  4. The works will be intrusive in nature and will involve the excavation of material at various sample locations via Borehole. For further information, please see attached location plan showing the locations of the areas subject to testing.
  5. The current proposals for the site include development of 14 houses and cottage flats which would provide a range of 1, 2 and 3 bed homes.
