This is the fourth in a series of Technical Notes to update Members on the ongoing planning and arrangements for the upcoming By-election for Ward 7 Kirkintilloch East & North and Twechar
Members will be aware that the By-election is scheduled to take place on 13 February 2025
The timelines for the By-election are tight, not least due to the recent Christmas holidays, and there are numerous key dates which will be of interest to Members. Updated timelines will be issued as dates are confirmed
The Notice of By-election was published on Friday 3 January 2025. The publication of this Notice formally opens the nomination period. Nominations can be submitted up until 4pm on Monday 13 January 2025
Following the close of the nomination period, a Notice of Poll will be posted on 13 January 2025. This Notice will set out the various candidates standing for election in the By-election
A briefing for Candidates and Agents has been scheduled for Thursday 16 This Briefing will run through the dos and don’ts and provide additional information in relation to matters such as election expenses
