This Technical Note will be published on the Council’s website following circulation to Members. Its contents may be disclosed or shared outwith the Council.
The purpose of this Technical Note is to provide a further update on the status of on-going construction works at the flatted affordable housing development at High Street, Kirkintilloch by Clyde Valley Housing Association (CVHA), following a request for information in relation to the project at Council on the 19 December 2024 – Report Ref: EDC/053/24/FR
The Council’s Building Standards Team continue to carry out regular site inspections and are in regular communication with the site contractor and appointed agents. Site inspections are carried out at key stages with the next one due to take place shortly
CVHA have advised that completion of Phase 1 (40 units) and Phase 2 (16 units) is now programmed for December 2025, previously anticipated in December 2024, due to the extent of remedial works being required to the development having increased following the removal of the external brick facade
Phase 3 of the development has planning permission for 16 flats. CVHA do not have a planned start date for this third phase at present
CVHA don’t have a Council housing list therefore the Council will give 100% nominations from its own list. The properties will be allocated in accordance with the current allocation policy and as close to targets as possible
Officers were also asked to provide an update on the Twechar Canalside Residential Development. Work continues in relation to this project and a full and detailed update will be provided as part of the budget process in early 2025. This update will provide information on build cost, abnormal site costs, anticipated unit numbers, projected rental income, grant funding and borrowing costs.
