Technical Notes 2024, Issue 105 - General Election 4th July 2024 (10) – Mid Dunbartonshire County Constituency Postal Vote Opening Update
Section
- This is the latest in a series of Technical Notes to update Members in relation to the ongoing planning and arrangements for the upcoming UK Parliamentary election.
- Members recently received an update advising of the dates for Postal Vote opening sessions, which are scheduled to commence later today.
- Since issuing Technical Note TN-104-24, Officers have become aware that approximately 21,000 Postal Votes have been issued to voters in the Mid Dunbartonshire County Constituency. This is a substantial increase since the 2019 UK General Election when approximately 14,000 Postal Votes were issued.
- In addition to the increased volume of Postal Votes, there is a traditionally high turnout for all elections in East Dunbartonshire, therefore the Election Team is anticipating a significant increase in the number of Postal Votes that will be returned in advance of Polling Day on 4th July. In light of this, two additional Postal Vote opening sessions have been scheduled as follows:–
Monday, 24th at 2.00 pm
Tuesday, 2nd July at 9.30 am.
These sessions will take place at the Council Chambers.
- Therefore, the combined list of Postal Vote opening sessions is as follows:
